After 10 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are only two movies left in the last stage of Phase 3 before the epic grand finale of Avengers 4. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has raised its schedule by releasing 3 MCU movies per year. Earlier, it was launching only 2 movies per year. After building immense fame and craze from the audience, they have made its move to three movies in a year.
However, Marvel’s movies are still undeclared in Phase 4. There are only two movies we know and which are scheduled to be launched in 2019 and 2020, i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man – Far from Home. The production of Far From Home has already started and James Gunn is all set to end the pre-production with Vol. 3. On July 5, 2020, Spider-Man Homecoming’s sequel will hit on screens, and the final Guardians will release on May 2020.
We don’t actually know about other films to follow these films. But it is clear that Marvel has made plans to release movies till 2024, according to Kevin Feige, and the plans don’t even have characters from the merger of Fox and Disney.
He said, “We know people are waiting for Guardians Vol.3 and Spider-Man: Far from Home. The preparation of these movies has been started by James Gunn soon. Along with it, we love the idea of focusing on the near future. In Marvel Studios, there are some secrets which will lead to what we are going to do from now to 2024.”
With the plan to launch three movies every year, Marvel has announced MCU movies and their release dates till 2022. But it seems Marvel is going to make some changes as they have changed the release date for a movie to be launched in 2021. According to the reports, an MCU movie, Borys Kit which was scheduled to be launched in July 2021, has been moved to February 2021. In his tweet, he wrote, “Marvel has announced Maleficent 2 to launch on May 29, 2020, and a mystery movie which was earlier scheduled for 30th July 2021, is going to launch on February 12, 2021.”
Sony and Marvel have signed a deal to launch a solo movie of Spider-Man every two years. Hence, the Spider-Man trilogy is about to finish in this July 30, 2021, in MCU. It seems Black Panther sequel is going to be released on February 12, 2021.
Black Panther broke all the records of box office collections in February this year. So, there are chances that Marvel will decide to follow the trend by launching yet another Black Panther in February. In every three years, Marvel launches sequels to various franchises, for example, Guardians, Avengers etc. So, without further ado, have a look on the calendar of upcoming MCU movies that are predicted as of now –
- Captain Marvel – March 8, 2019
- Avengers 4 – May 3, 2019
- Spider-Man: Far from Home – July 5, 2019
