Bollywood has been beaming over Kjo’s newly achieved fatherhood. Karan Johar was blessed with twins, a girl and a boy through surrogacy. KJo named his son Yash after his father, the famous director Yash Johar who passed away in 2004. He named his daughter Roohi derived from his mother’s name Hiroo. Karan broke the news to the world in a tweet which said “two most wonderful additions to my life and lifelines”.
Mr. Johar said that he his mother will play a big part in the kid’s life and as a single parent, he will dedicate as much time to the upbringing of the kids as possible. The proud new dad also added that his work, travels, and social commitments would have to take a back seat and he is prepared for.
The two bundles of joy were born last month in Mumbai’s Masrani Hospital. This is the same hospital where Shah Rukh Khan welcomed his third child AbRam.
KJo is not the first one to opt for the option of surrogacy to enjoy the bliss of parenthood. Famous Bollywood celebs have used surrogacy in the past to complete their family. The list includes bigshots such as Bollywood’s king Shah Rukh Khan, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, Tushar Kapoor, Sohail Khan. Not just surrogacy there have been examples of Bollywood celebs opting for IVF therapy too. Choreographer Farah Khan got married at the age of 40. The couple tried to conceive for a few years but finally decided to take medical help. The duo was blessed with triplets through IVF.
When Karan Johar confirmed his happiness with his fans, Farah Khan took to twitter to congratulate him and also added that she is happy that KJo took her advice to complete his family. Other than Farah, there were many more of Karan’s friends and colleagues who congratulated him on his new journey. Alia Bhat tweeted that she is very happy for him and also addressed the babies as her little brother and sister. Other Bollywood celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan etc also took to twitter to wish and bless the new daddy and his little ones.
It is indeed a miracle when people can enjoy the bliss to parenthood outside marriage with the help of medical science. And not only science, stars were also seen adopting kids and giving them a better life. Sushmita Sen went against the society and won the right of motherhood from the court of law long way back.
While on one hand surrogacy has raised many questions, it has also granted wishes of many couples who were not able to have babies of their own.
The 44 years old director and producer kept the entire process very confidential. According to an update, his close friend and confidante Shah Rukh Khan knew about this. In fact, it was Mr. Khan who introduced Karan to Dr. Makrand Masani.
We are also thrilled about the news. Let us all wish KJo the best for his real life fatherhood too.
